Softwashing UK were contracted to clean and restore the Pinnacle Apartment complex in central Bournemouth. This is an upmarket apartment complex, and the technical nature of the project posed several challenges.
Firstly, the building is not architecturally simplistic. So, in order to reach all elevations, it was necessary to use multiple forms of specialist access equipment. Due to the lie of the land one corner of the building required scaffolding. Softwashing UK also used two Moving Elevating Work Platforms on this project, one of which was a 57m truck mounted MEWP. Naturally, Softwashing UK possesses all the necessary IPAF qualifications to safely operate this equipment. As The Pinnacle is located adjacent to public roads it was also necessary to liaise with the local council and ensure our traffic management plan was to their satisfaction. Please note – Softwashing UK are Streetworks qualified. A road closure and traffic diversion plan was put in place in order to allow the truck mounted MEWP to safely operate. The Pinnacle is a very busy residential area. So, it was necessary to communicate to residents formally both before and during the project. Softwashing UK produce letters that are sent to all residents prior to a project like this, to ensure that everything goes without a hitch. SIA qualified Safety Stewards were also on site to advise and assist residents as they entered and left the building.

We have completed numerous projects for the Property Manager responsible as a result of our exceptional work on this project. We also have a maintenance plan in place for The Pinnacle – at the request of the block resident Directors – this ensures the building is maintained in optimal condition – while avoiding the higher periodic costs of a large-scale restoration clean.
