Softwashing offers a safe and environmentally sound way of cleaning stone floors. The effects are long-lasting and softwashing won't damage the stonework.
In the language of interior design, stone floors are impact statements despite the expensive of fitting them. Yet many people are often at a loss on how to clean them. At Softwashing UK, we have great experience and expertise in cleaning the great variety of stone floors, be they slate, marble, granite, sandstone, or any other kind. While maintaining a stone floor can be done adequately with regular brushing, dry mopping and the prompt removal of stains, deep cleans and the restoration of heavily stained and dirty floors require expert help. Additional help is also suggested when polishing stone, which is needed where there’s a lot of footfall. This is where Softwashing UK fit into your needs.
Softwashing UK will select the appropriate method to clean and care for your particular type of stone floor. Natural stones like Slate, Sandstone, Marble, Flagstone, Granite, and Limestone all require slightly adjusted methods to clean them, as do treatments for man-made tiles such as Ceramic, Terrazzo, and Porcelain. DIY methods of cleaning can only get you so far, and to avoid temporary or long term damage to the stone, it is best to turn to the professionals.
Once we’ve established beyond doubt what type of stone floor you have (including tests for when we’re working with rare or unusual stone types), we will inspect the entire floor to ensure there are no damaged or at risk areas that will not benefit from cleaning.
In most instances we will then perform a light clean to remove superficial and obvious dust and debris. Usually this is an uncomplicated process, but sometimes a special softwash blend will be required to do this effectively, such as when cleaning marble for instance.
We will then select and craft the most appropriate softwash blend for cleaning your stone floor, depending on the type of stone and also the nature of the soiling. Organic growths and stains may well require an active biocide geared to eliminate the growth, and kill it at root cause. For particularly persistent stains we may apply a poultice paste, followed by repeat cleaning a day or two later, although this is usually not the case.
In all cases though, Softwashing UK’s stone floor cleaning services are flexible. We will arrange to clean the floor at the time that best suits you, be that in your presence or in your absence. Our prices are highly competitive and we pride ourselves on expert delivery at a fair cost.
No matter what type of stone floor needs cleaning, and the nature of the dirt or soiling, Softwashing UK pairs experience and knowledge together to deliver an exceptional clean.
