Cleaning Parex Render
Galliford Try Partnerships South West manage a number of properties, some of which had become badly stained with clay. Once it has dried clay staining can be extremely difficult to remove, especially on a render substrate. As clay is a non-organic compound it cannot be removed using biocides. Neither is pressure washing advised to remove clay when cleaning Parex render. This is for two reasons. Firstly it will likely not be effective, and it is more likely to blast the clay into the substrate than it is to remove it. Secondly you risk damaging the render substrate. While Parex render is very durable it is just not designed to withstand high pressure jets. With these two cleaning options excluded many cleaning service providers are at their wits end. Fortunately Softwashing UK have the expertise to clean render, whether it is stained from organic growth, or non organic compounds like clay. We cleaned the Parex render on these properties, and removed all the clay stains.
When Softwashing UK arrived to clean these Parex render properties we noticed straight away that other service providers had tried, and failed, to clean the clay off the substrate. They had attempted to power wash the clay staining, and it had not worked. They had actually made the staining more ingrained and harder to remove. Softwashing UK removed the clay on Parex render by using the Doff Steam System. The Doff Steam system is recommended by institutions like Historic England for restoration. It applies steam at low pressure, and while caution is required to ensure that temperatures do not exceed the manufacturer’s guidelines. Using this system Softwashing UK were able to delicately clean the Parex, remove the clay staining, and restore it to optimum condition.
