Old-fashioned high pressure cleaning can seriously damage your roof. Softwashing gets a better, longer-lasting clean without the risk of pressure.

Roof cleaning is one of the most in demand services offered by Softwashing UK. Mosses, algae, lichens, and other atmospheric growths can cause structural damage to a roof, whether or not the greenish hues are seen by some as ‘quaint’. A common bacteria, gloecapsa magma, also causes unsightly black staining on a roof. Once a roof becomes covered with moss it is well into its projected life cycle, at which point maintenance and cleaning becomes more vital than ever. The old fashioned solution is to resort to high pressure cleaning to blast moss from the roof surface. However, high pressure cleaning of aging roofs is an aggressive solution which can cause substantial damage, so it is not recommended by roofing material manufacturers or roofers associations.

Softwashing is a gentle solution to roof cleaning and restoration. We use a pH neutral blend designed to treat the specific roof infection and kill gloecapsa magma, and unlike high pressure blasting, our products do not damage the roof materials. We filter and cleanse the roof using our softwashing low pressure tank system, and use light brushing to ensure maximum sanitisation. Softwashing uses the power of chemistry to eliminate the infectant at both surface and root. The products activate in minutes and then last for months.

Our process gets fast results that continue over time:

We will fully analyse your roof, perform risk assessment, and identify the exact infectant or infectants. We also identify and damaged areas that will need repairing before we clean.
We perform preparatory cleaning to remove surface mosses and lichens before applying the softwash. We’ll remove 90% of the visible growth.
We take all necessary precautions and measures to protect the garden and surrounds from the softwash, so as to avoid unnecessary exposure.
We use minimum pressures to thoroughly cleanse the roof using the correctly blended softwash detergents. These kill and eliminate spores and bacteria, like gloecapsa magma.
We will clean and shine your guttering and fascias.
We rinse completely and let the now clean and secure roof to dry in the air.
While high pressure blasting can subject a roof to damage without removing the root cause of infection, our low pressure, professional softwashing roof clean solution leaves roofs clear and secure for months to come.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We’ve used this service a few times over the years for our house exterior, gutters, and patio, and they always do a great job. They’re reliable, thorough, and often go the extra mile, even with tough stains. Everything is left looking really clean, and they always explain things clearly. We’re very happy with the results and keep coming back.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Softwashing UK was able to meet our gutter cleaning needs where others couldn’t. They were professional, reliable, and clearly knew what they were doing.

They also did a fantastic job cleaning the render on our garage — it looks so much better now!

Great service overall and I would definitely recommend them to others.

Many thanks to Softwashing UK for their excellent work at a reasonable price. We had some long standing algae stains on the rendering of the rear walls on our property in Cardiff.

And the admin team were great in providing a quote, planning the work, and visited our property beforehand to check access to complete the work.

Excellent team who know what they are doing. We are really happy with the results, better than we expected.

Thanks.

From initial phone calls with Bernie and Gavin explaining what would be required to clean our residential property to the job being completed exactly as described.
Would highly recommend as they have achieved amazing results, very professional.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We’ve used Softwashing a number of times over the past few years to clean the exterior of our house, gutters and patio. Every time it has been a fantastic service, always going above and beyond, whether it’s attacking a stubborn rust stain or taking time to explain the process. We have recommended them to friends and neighbours and using them every year is testament to how happy we are with the work they do. Thanks!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The service was great, Gavin arrived on the dot of eight o’clock and he then talked me through the process before starting. He worked diligently using a range of different techniques to address the various issues. At the end the render looked like new! Would definitely recommend and will have them back again when it needs doing again!
