Aluminium window and door frames are very common. We clean aluminium window frames and door frames regularly. Lightweight yet robust the material gives a professional finish, and can be easily painted in many colours to meet design standards. Unfortunately aluminium frames can be subject to deterioration, the first stage of which is a chalky residue, difficult to remove, which left untreated is expensive to repaint. As it builds up these residues are unsightly and have a negative effect on curb appeal. Aluminium frames are also subject to UV damage. Fortunately Softwashing UK remove residues entirely, and protect frames from sunlight and UV, so that there is no need for costly repainting. We get aluminium frames looking as good as new.
Softwashing UK specialise in cleaning aluminium frames, and removing damaging residues, no matter how high up the frames are located. All our operatives are trained, insured, and qualified, to work at height, and we will use the most appropriate method to scale up to the windows- be that ladder, scaffold tower, or cherry picker.
High pressure cleaning is not appropriate for cleaning window frames, the chalky residues may not be removed even with pressure, and the jets can cause damage and leak in through the windows, at Softwashing UK we use the recommended method. We use a three stage process to clean aluminium frames. Having first inspected for damage we will rinse with pure water, pumped through our low pressure system. This ensures any drops or splashes will not stain or mar glass panes. We will then blend a bio-friendly detergent cream, used specifically for aluminium, and apply this across the surface by hand, using a special pad. This cream totally removes the typical residues, and its light detergent base cleanses and kills other lingering bacteria and organisms. This process not only cleans the aluminium, but gives a deep polish to the surface, and the frames will have a real shine, like they day they were installed. We then finish the job with a second pure water rinse.

Aluminium windows and door frames are a popular choice for commercial buildings due to their sleek appearance, durability, and low maintenance. However, over time, exposure to pollution, oxidation, and weather can leave aluminium frames looking dull, stained, and streaked. That’s where Softwashing UK comes in.
We offer professional aluminium cleaning services using specialist soft wash technology — a safe, effective alternative to abrasive cleaning methods.
Traditional high-pressure methods can damage powder coatings or anodised finishes on aluminium. Our soft wash approach uses low pressure combined with biodegradable cleaning agents designed specifically for sensitive commercial surfaces. This safely removes grime, pollutants, and organic staining without damaging the protective coatings.
