Eco-Friendly Exterior Cleaning for Render, Walls, Cladding & Masonry

At Soft Washing UK, we offer a safe, environmentally responsible solution for removing red algae, green algae and organic staining from exterior surfaces using Safe Wash – a 100% organic outdoor cleaner.

Many homeowners and property managers are concerned about the environmental impact of traditional exterior cleaning chemicals. Safe Wash provides an effective alternative, allowing us to clean exterior surfaces while minimising environmental impact and protecting surrounding plants, wildlife and landscaping.

If your property is suffering from unsightly red algae, green algae, black staining or organic discolouration, our specialist cleaning process can help restore your surfaces safely and effectively.

What is Safe Wash?

Safe Wash is a 100% organic outdoor cleaning solution designed to remove algae, organic staining and biological contamination from exterior surfaces.

Unlike many traditional cleaning products, Safe Wash uses naturally derived ingredients to break down and remove organic growth without relying on harsh chemicals.

This makes it an excellent choice for environmentally conscious homeowners, schools, care homes, public spaces and commercial properties.

What Causes Red & Green Algae?

Green algae commonly appears on:

House walls
Render
Patios
Driveways
Roofs
Fences
Decking

It thrives in shaded, damp environments and can make surfaces slippery, unsightly and difficult to maintain.

Red algae is becoming increasingly common on modern render systems, particularly silicone render, monocouche render and coloured render finishes.

It often appears as:

Red streaks on walls
Pink or red staining
Rust-coloured discolouration
Patchy red growth on render

Red algae can spread rapidly and significantly affect the appearance of a property if left untreated.

Why Remove Algae?

Algae growth is more than just a cosmetic issue.

Removing algae can help:

Improved kerb appeal
Protect property value
Reduce slip hazards
Improve appearance of render
Maintain exterior finishes
Enhance first impressions

Early treatment often prevents more extensive cleaning work later.

Our Safe Wash Cleaning Process

At Soft Washing UK, we use specialist low-pressure application methods to apply Safe Wash to affected surfaces.

Our process typically includes:

Inspection of the affected area.
Assessment of algae contamination.
Application of Safe Wash organic cleaner.
Treatment of red and green algae growth
Gentle rinsing or natural weathering process where appropriate.
Final inspection.

This approach helps achieve effective cleaning results while protecting delicate exterior surfaces.

Surfaces Suitable for Safe Wash Treatment

Safe Wash can be used on a wide variety of exterior surfaces, including:

K Rend
Monocouche render
Silicone render
Coloured render systems
Brickwork
Stonework
Timber cladding

This approach helps achieve effective cleaning results while protecting delicate exterior surfaces.

Organic Cleaning for Modern Render Systems

Modern render systems can be particularly vulnerable to algae contamination due to their textured finishes and exposure to moisture.

Safe Wash provides an ideal cleaning solution for:

Because the product is organic and applied using low-pressure techniques, it helps reduce the risk of damage associated with aggressive cleaning methods.

Environmentally Friendly Exterior Cleaning

Many customers choose Safe Wash because they want a more environmentally responsible approach to exterior cleaning.

Benefits include:

100% organic formulation
Eco-friendly cleaning process
Reduced environmental impact
Safe around landscaped areas when used correctly
Suitable for sensitive locations
Low-pressure application methods

This makes it a popular choice for residential, commercial and public-sector properties.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We’ve used this service a few times over the years for our house exterior, gutters, and patio, and they always do a great job. They’re reliable, thorough, and often go the extra mile, even with tough stains. Everything is left looking really clean, and they always explain things clearly. We’re very happy with the results and keep coming back.

Many thanks to Softwashing UK for their excellent work at a reasonable price. We had some long standing algae stains on the rendering of the rear walls on our property in Cardiff.

And the admin team were great in providing a quote, planning the work, and visited our property beforehand to check access to complete the work.

Excellent team who know what they are doing. We are really happy with the results, better than we expected.

Thanks.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The service was great, Gavin arrived on the dot of eight o’clock and he then talked me through the process before starting. He worked diligently using a range of different techniques to address the various issues. At the end the render looked like new! Would definitely recommend and will have them back again when it needs doing again!
