K-Rend Cleaning & Restoration
(Soft Wash Specialists)

K-Rend is a popular modern render used on homes and commercial buildings across the UK. Its durability and wide range of colours make it an attractive choice for property owners.

However, once organic growth begins to develop on the surface, restoring the render safely can be difficult without specialist cleaning methods.

Our professional K-Rend soft washing service safely removes algae, mould, and other contaminants while protecting the integrity of your render.

Why K-Rend Becomes Dirty

The UK’s damp and changeable weather create the perfect environment for organic growth to develop on external surfaces.

Over time, K-Rend can become contaminated with:

Green algae (single-cell organisms that cause green staining)
Red algae such as Trentepohlia, which produces orange or red streaks
Lichen and moss that attach firmly to the render surface
Black moulds including Geocapsa Magma and Aspergillus Niger

These organisms not only spoil the appearance of your property but can also spread and worsen if left untreated.

Why Traditional Cleaning Methods Can Damage K-Rend

K-Rend is a delicate substrate, and aggressive cleaning methods such as high-pressure washing, can cause serious damage including:

That’s why soft washing is the recommended and safest method for cleaning modern-coloured renders.

Our Professional Soft Wash Cleaning Process

We use specialist soft washing treatments designed specifically for render surfaces and the degree of organic staining present. This process removes all organic growth at the root, rather than simply washing away surface staining.

Our K-Rend cleaning process includes:

Property Assessment and bespoke quotation

Every property is different. We begin with an inspection to identify the type of render and contamination and to determine the safest cleaning method with access in mind. Once we have the relevant information required we will follow it up by sending you a bespoke quotation for your perusal and consideration.

What Our K-Rend Cleaning Removes

Our treatments effectively remove:

Green Algae Staining
Red Algae (Trentepohlia)
Black mould including Geocapsa Magma
Lichen Growth
Moss and Organic Buildup
Atmospheric Dirt and Light Pollution

Your render will be restored to its original colour and appearance.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We’ve used this service a few times over the years for our house exterior, gutters, and patio, and they always do a great job. They’re reliable, thorough, and often go the extra mile, even with tough stains. Everything is left looking really clean, and they always explain things clearly. We’re very happy with the results and keep coming back.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Softwashing UK was able to meet our gutter cleaning needs where others couldn’t. They were professional, reliable, and clearly knew what they were doing.

They also did a fantastic job cleaning the render on our garage — it looks so much better now!

Great service overall and I would definitely recommend them to others.

Many thanks to Softwashing UK for their excellent work at a reasonable price. We had some long standing algae stains on the rendering of the rear walls on our property in Cardiff.

And the admin team were great in providing a quote, planning the work, and visited our property beforehand to check access to complete the work.

Excellent team who know what they are doing. We are really happy with the results, better than we expected.

Thanks.

Excellent service from start to finish.
From initial phone calls with Bernie and Gavin explaining what would be required to clean our residential property to the job being completed exactly as described.
Would highly recommend as they have achieved amazing results, very professional.

Afterwards photos taken not long after completion so still drying out, the before photos were taken the 24 hours before before.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We’ve used Softwashing a number of times over the past few years to clean the exterior of our house, gutters and patio. Every time it has been a fantastic service, always going above and beyond, whether it’s attacking a stubborn rust stain or taking time to explain the process. We have recommended them to friends and neighbours and using them every year is testament to how happy we are with the work they do. Thanks!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The service was great, Gavin arrived on the dot of eight o’clock and he then talked me through the process before starting. He worked diligently using a range of different techniques to address the various issues. At the end the render looked like new! Would definitely recommend and will have them back again when it needs doing again!
