Softwashing UK work extensively not only for private commercial and domestic customers, but also in the public sector UK wide. As part of the successful tender for this project Softwashing UK needed to work both safely and responsibly. Like many councils across the UK Carmarthenshire Council are looking for competitive costs that deliver great value to voters – but they also have a strong sense of environmental responsibility. This meant that the extensive render cleaning project for Carmarthenshire Council would be delivered, as a pre-condition – without a using any DDAC Biocides or Sodium Hypochlorite based products. This is a challenge, as many other contractors rely solely on these harmful chemicals.
Softwashing UK however, were able to combine two low impact environmental solutions, that enabled risk free cleaning and render restoration. The first of these technologies is Safewash. This is a cleaning solution derived entirely from citrus fruits, and while it removes red and green stains from buildings, it poses no risk to human, animal, or wider environmental health. Softwashing UK both supply and work with Safewash, which is by far the safest and lowest environmental impact solution on the market in the UK. The second technology was Doff Steam cleaning. This is a low-pressure steam cleaning solution that is recommended for use by Historic England, among others. It delivers steam at a tightly controlled temperature and pressure, to ensure the integrity and cleanliness of masonry and render.
Using these technologies in unison Softwashing UK was able to deliver risk free render restoration for Carmarthenshire Council. They were delighted that the project was completed on time and budget – with no health and safety concerns, despite numerous impromptu inspections throughout the project.
