Before treating organic growth with a Safewash application Softwashing UK will first run a full analysis and assessment to see what is infecting the surface, to establish the correct concentrations of product to apply. Exterior surfaces are most commonly infected with algae and moulds such as Trentepohlia and Aspergillus Niger. We will then use water fed poles and a low pressure spray unit to apply Safewash. The product will enter the cell wall of the surface infectant, and destroy the enzyme root, killing it in literally minutes. Depending on the nature of the infection localised stain removal may then be necessary, in most cases however the condition of the surface improves in the following hours and days. In some cases a week or two may be necessary before improvement is seen- (with particularly prevalent black mould) but if this is the case we will advise accordingly beforehand and may recommend a different combination of treatments.
